Montage at Deer Valley

The big news this week is the first release of condominium units at the new Montage Resort Spa and Hotel in Deer Valley.

While the Montage is still under construction with an expected opening in Christmas 2010, the developer is releasing 15 units for sale now. The Montage Hotel will have 171 hotel units on the first 7 floors which will not be available for sale. But, there will be 81 residential units on the upper 6 levels which will be for sale and eventually privately owned. The Montage will feature 3 restaurants, a 30,000 sq ft spa area, and direct ski-in/ski-out access to the Empire and Lady Morgan lifts. The Montage developer is offering some special incentives for the first 15 buyers. The initial release will offer pricing below the St. Regis hotel in Deer Valley, will offer the first 15 buyers 20% of the list price, and family season passes at Deer Valley Resort for the next two years. The developer will also be offering participation in Deer Valley’s “1st tracks” program. The first tracks program is consists of a group of skiers that go out with a Deer Valley ski host 30 to 45 minutes before the lifts open to the public. The first track skiers have the earliest access to pristine powder and/or the best corduroy skiing. This weekend is the “Presidents Holiday Weekend” and typically is one of the busiest times in Park City. Even though we do not have our typical snow totals for this time of year, we still have a 6 ft base (instead of the normal 8-9ft base) and the skiing and weather are terrific. What will be interesting is if our east coast visitors are actually able to fly out of the eastern airports to take advantage of our wonderful ski conditions. February and March tend to be very snowy months and with the higher sun angle, the non snowy days are warm and inviting.

Plan your ski trip now. If you have never experienced western skiing, you will be taken by the quality of the snow and the beauty of the mountains. While you may be hearing that the Rockies are not having the greatest snow year, the conditions in the Utah resorts are much better than the Colorado resorts and most ski resorts would consider our conditions to be absolutely fabulous!
